Terms of service
The operator of RouteCord (the “Service”) establishes these Terms of Use (the “Terms”) as the conditions for using the Service. Users must agree to these Terms before using the Service.
Article 1 (Application)
These Terms apply to all matters relating to use of the Service between the operator and users. Conditions for individual features and paid services are shown on the Service or during checkout.
The Service is a tool for forwarding, mixing and recording Discord audio on users’ devices through BOTs supplied by users. It is not provided or officially endorsed by Discord.
Personal information is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Article 2 (Registration)
The basic audio features do not require an account with the Service. Users of features requiring registration must register using the method specified by the operator.
When an external authentication service is used, its terms also apply. Users must not provide false information or impersonate another person.
Article 3 (Use by Minors)
Minors must obtain consent from a parent or other legal representative before making payments through the Service.
These Terms do not limit cancellation rights or other rights granted to minors by law.
Article 4 (Account Management and Data Storage)
Users are responsible for appropriately managing their account information, BOT credentials and devices.
Recordings, settings and other data are stored in your browser. The Service does not provide server-side storage or backups of recordings, or synchronization between devices. Insufficient storage, browser data removal, device failures or user actions may cause storage, processing or export failures, corruption or loss. The operator cannot restore lost data on your device.
Export important recordings promptly, verify that they play correctly and keep a separate copy yourself. If a BOT token may have been exposed, revoke or regenerate it through Discord as appropriate.
Article 5 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in the following conduct when using the Service.
- Violations of laws or public order and morals
- Criminal activity, fraud or conduct that facilitates them
- Infringement of copyrights, trademarks, privacy or other rights of users or third parties
- Unauthorized reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling of the Service’s programs, except as permitted by law or applicable third-party licenses
- Unauthorized reuse of the Service’s programs, images, text or other components, or the results of analyzing them, to develop or provide imitative products or services, except as permitted by law or applicable third-party licenses
- Impersonation, harassment, discrimination, defamation, threats or unauthorized disclosure of personal information
- Unauthorized access, unauthorized use of another person’s BOT token, bypassing access restrictions or exploiting vulnerabilities
- Excessive automated access, spam or other interference with the Service or its users
Article 6 (BOTs and Audio)
Users must use BOTs they manage or have permission to use and configure the necessary permissions appropriately. Users must comply with Discord’s terms, the developer terms applicable to their BOTs and each server’s rules, and meet Discord’s age and other eligibility requirements. The Service does not authorize use that violates those conditions.
When forwarding, recording, playing or otherwise handling audio, inform affected participants, including those who join later, of the purpose, destination, whether recording is taking place and the intended scope of sharing, and obtain any necessary consent or permission. A BOT joining a channel or a user starting a recording does not by itself establish every participant’s consent.
Users must appropriately manage destinations, forwarding direction, volume and other settings, as well as the use, publication and sharing of recordings, while respecting participants’ and third parties’ rights. Users should address permission and recording-related issues with participants to the extent of their own conduct and responsibility. Any responsibility of the operator is governed by Article 11.
Article 7 (Changes to the Service)
The operator may change, add, suspend or discontinue the Service for maintenance, failures, security responses or other operational reasons. Changes to the specifications, terms or availability policies of Discord or other external services, outages, access restrictions or action against BOTs or accounts may prevent some or all features from being provided.
Changes or discontinuation with a significant impact on users will be announced in advance where possible. Urgent responses or unannounced changes by external services may be announced afterward. Continued compatibility with external services or a particular restoration time is not guaranteed.
Article 8 (Paid Services and Payments)
Prices, features, payment methods, payment timing and other conditions of paid services are displayed on the Service or during checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Sponsor plans renew automatically until canceled under the conditions shown when subscribing. Users can cancel through the designated billing management page before the next renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, sponsor benefits do not guarantee uptime, latency, successful recording, data preservation or support within a specified time. Payment does not remove the technical and external-service limitations described in Articles 4, 7 and 11.
Article 9 (Refunds and Cancellation)
Payments are not refunded for reasons attributable to the user unless required by law. Mid-period cancellation does not result in a prorated refund.
Duplicate charges, non-performance attributable to the operator and other cases where refunds, cancellation or remedies are required by law are handled in accordance with that law.
Article 10 (Intellectual Property)
Copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in the Service belong to the operator or their rightful owners. Users must not use them without permission except as allowed by the Service or by law.
Rights in audio, recordings and other material handled through the Service remain with users or their original rights holders. Using the Service does not transfer those rights to the operator. Recordings may be used for personal, educational or commercial purposes subject to law, these Terms and the necessary permissions. Making a recording does not itself grant unrestricted rights to use other participants’ audio or material.
Article 11 (Warranties and Limitation of Liability)
The Service is provided in the condition in which it is available at the time. The operator does not guarantee operation on every device or browser, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or zero-latency processing, complete audio or recordings, exact synchronization, or successful storage, conversion or export. Network conditions, device load or sleep, browser closure, reloads or operating restrictions, and storage capacity may cause audio delays, gaps, interruptions or recording stoppages. For important broadcasts or recordings, test the Service beforehand and arrange an alternative recording method where needed.
The operator is not liable for damage caused by circumstances for which the operator is not legally responsible, including outages or changes of external services, users’ devices or networks, or third-party conduct. If the operator bears responsibility, the following provisions apply even where an external service or third party is involved.
Where the operator is liable in contract or tort and the cause amounts only to ordinary negligence by the operator, its representatives or persons it uses to perform the Service, recoverable damages are limited to direct and ordinary damage actually suffered by the user, excluding lost profits, indirect damage and damage arising from special circumstances. This limitation does not apply to intentional misconduct or gross negligence, death or personal injury, or other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Neither this Article nor any other provision provides a blanket exemption from the operator’s liability or restricts rights under the Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory laws, including statutory rights to terminate or obtain refunds.
Article 12 (Restrictions and Account Suspension)
The operator may restrict use, suspend accounts or cancel registrations to the extent necessary to respond to violations of these Terms, rights infringements or security issues.
Article 13 (Changes to the Terms)
The operator may amend these Terms in accordance with law when the change benefits users generally, or is reasonable in light of the purpose of the agreement, the need for the change, its appropriateness and other circumstances.
The changes and their effective date will be announced on the Service before they take effect. Changes requiring individual consent by law will apply after that consent is obtained.
Article 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by Japanese law. Unless applicable law provides otherwise, the Nagoya District Court or Nagoya Summary Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes concerning the Service.
Article 15 (Severability and No Waiver)
If any provision or part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to exercise a right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
Article 16 (Language)
These Terms are written in Japanese. Translations are provided for reference. If a translation differs from the Japanese original, the Japanese version prevails.
